Sustainability

At Bournemouth Reggae Weekender, we’re not just about bringing you amazing music and unforgettable experiences—we’re also deeply committed to protecting our planet. Our mission is to create events that have zero environmental impact, and we’re working hard to make this a reality with minimal reliance on offsetting.

Offsetting is not the long-term solution to the environmental challenges we face. Instead, we believe in understanding and reducing our impact from the start. That’s why we’re focused on designing emissions out of our festival. We’ll be implementing low-consumption designs, incorporating sustainable and renewable power sources, and incentivising local suppliers who use renewable, sustainable products with low environmental impact.

All of our consumables will be ethically produced and either 100% recyclable or compostable. Over the next three years, we’re dedicated to finding and implementing solutions that ensure what we love doesn’t harm our future.

We invite you to join us on this journey of change. Together, we can make a difference.

If you’d like to learn more or get involved, please don’t hesitate to email us at events@afro-disiac.co.uk

Let’s create a greener future together!

  • 2023: Introduced re-usable cup scheme.
  • 2024: Introducing Re-fillable water stations with Bournemouth Water and waste segregation working alongside litter-free Dorset.
  • 2025: Banning foil and plastic balloons, helium, and single-use plastics of any sort at the festival.
