Welcome to the family. These terms are here so that everyone – you, your loved ones, our artists, traders, crew and neighbours – can enjoy a safe, joyful weekend together. Please read them before you buy and before you arrive.
1. ABOUT THESE TERMS
1.1 Your ticket is issued by the Promoter for the Festival subject to these Conditions of Issue. By buying or using a ticket, you accept these Conditions and agree to follow any further notices, signs or instructions given by the Promoter at the Venue.
1.2 Words with capital letters have the meanings set out in section 17.
2. WHO WE ARE
2.1 The Festival is organised by Afro*disiac Live Radio CIC, a community interest company registered in England and Wales (company number 07899828), of 932 Christchurch Road, Boscombe, Bournemouth BH7 6DL.
2.2 You can contact us about anything in these terms at events@afro-disiac.co.uk.
3. BUYING YOUR TICKET
3.1 Tickets are sold only through the official Festival website: www.bournemouthreggaeweekender.co.uk/tickets. Tickets bought from any other source, including touts, resale or auction sites, are void and will not be accepted for entry.
3.2 All tickets remain the property of the Promoter. Tickets are not transferable, except to the named members of a group booking, who will be treated as if they were the original purchaser.
3.3 Tickets may not be resold, offered as a prize in any promotion or competition, included in a hospitality or travel package, or used for any commercial purpose without the Promoter’s written consent.
3.4 Tickets are non-refundable once purchased, except as set out in section 13. This is clearly shown to you before you complete your purchase.
4. WRISTBANDS AND ENTRY
4.1 Your ticket will be exchanged for a wristband at the entrance gates, fitted by Festival staff. Please keep your ticket with you throughout the Festival.
4.2 If you receive a wristband without a ticket, you must fit it before entering the Venue.
4.3 Wristbands must be worn at all times. We may refuse entry to, or remove, anyone whose wristband has been incorrectly fitted, damaged or tampered with.
4.4 There is no re-entry. Once you leave the Venue you will not be readmitted that day, so please bring everything you need with you. Weekend and other multi-day tickets allow one entry on each Festival day; Day tickets allow one entry on the day shown only.
5. AGES AND YOUNG PEOPLE
5.1 Age bands are based on age on 23 July 2027:
– Infant: 3 and under
– Child: 4 to 12
– Teen: 13 to 17
– Adult: 18 and over
5.2 Infant and Child tickets must be bought with an Adult ticket, and every Infant and Child must be accompanied by an Adult at all times. We may limit the number of Child tickets issued.
5.3 Teens must be accompanied by at least one responsible Adult for every five Teens. Unaccompanied Teens will be refused entry.
5.4 Please carry proof of age for every young person in your party (or the responsible Adult may carry it on their behalf). Without it, a young person may be refused entry or asked to leave.
5.5 Some areas of the Venue, especially directly in front of the stage, and some acts may not be suitable for young people. The accompanying Adult is fully responsible for the safety and welfare of any young person in their party, including if that young person is refused entry or asked to leave.
5.6 We operate Challenge 25. Anyone who looks under 25 will be asked for photo ID to buy alcohol.
6. ACCESS AND PERSONAL ASSISTANTS
6.1 We want everyone to be able to join us. Our 2-for-1 Ticket Scheme makes sure people who need the support of a personal assistant (PA) can attend.
6.2 How it works: simply buy any of our 2-for-1 ticket deals. This covers both you and your PA in the same purchase. No separate PA ticket application is needed.
6.3 Verification on the day: you do not need to email us or send documents in advance. If asked at the access check, please show your ticket(s) and one of the following:
– Access Card with the +1 symbol
– DLA or PIP award letter (dated within the last 12 months)
– Letter from a medical professional
– Proof of deaf or blind registration
– Nimbus Access Card
– Blue Badge (both sides)
– Letter from your GP or specialist confirming your need for assistance
6.4 PA access is provided through the 2-for-1 scheme only, and no separate PA ticket is issued. Any PA ticket bought separately cannot be refunded.
6.5 Any accessible viewing area or accessible parking is allocated on site according to need and availability. If you have access questions before the Festival, please contact us at the address in section 2.
6.6 Assistance dogs, including guide dogs and hearing dogs, are welcome. No other dogs or pets are permitted.
7. SEARCHES AND PROHIBITED ITEMS
7.1 We may search any person and their belongings on entry and at any time while at the Venue. Anyone who refuses a search will be refused entry or asked to leave.
7.2 The following are not permitted:
– Glass of any kind
– Candles, gas canisters, flares, fireworks and smoke canisters
– Knives and weapons of any kind
– Illegal substances, drugs, so-called “legal highs” and nitrous oxide
– Laser pens and equipment, and megaphones
– Drones
– Poles, large banners and flagpoles
– Dogs, pets and other animals (except assistance dogs)
– Any other item that, in the Promoter’s reasonable judgement, puts the safety or enjoyment of others at risk or affects the running of the Festival
7.3 Flags: hand-held national and cultural flags are welcome – come and represent! Please don’t use poles, and don’t hold flags in a way that blocks other people’s view.
7.4 Chairs: folding and camping chairs are welcome. For safety, we may ask you not to use them beyond a set point in front of the stage, or to fold them away in busy areas. We may refuse inflatable seating.
7.5 Prohibited items, and permitted items used against these terms, will be confiscated. We cannot store or return confiscated items.
8. FOOD, DRINK AND WATER
8.1 Please do not bring food, alcohol, soft drinks, cans or bottles onto the Festival Site. There will be plenty to enjoy from our traders.
8.2 Water: you are welcome to bring an empty, non-glass refillable bottle. Free water refill points are provided with our partners at Bournemouth Water.
8.3 Exemptions: food and drink needed for medical or dietary reasons, and baby food, milk and formula, are allowed. These may be checked on entry.
9. BEHAVIOUR, SAFETY AND WELFARE
9.1 We may refuse entry to, or remove, anyone who, in our reasonable judgement, puts the safety or enjoyment of others at risk or affects the running of the Festival. This includes anyone who refuses to be searched, appears to be under the influence of drink or drugs, behaves aggressively, carries a prohibited item, or does not follow a reasonable instruction from Festival staff, stewards or security.
9.2 Please follow all signs about smoking and vaping.
9.3 If you lose a child, or a member of your group needs help, speak to any steward or go to the welfare point straight away.
10. TRADING AND PROMOTION
10.1 You may not sell, hand out or promote any product or service at the Venue, whether free or for sale, without the Promoter’s written consent. Please only buy from traders authorised by the Promoter.
11. FILMING, PHOTOGRAPHY AND YOUR IMAGE
11.1 Photos, video and audio recorded on phones or cameras for your own personal, non-commercial use are welcome. Professional recording equipment is not permitted without our written consent.
11.2 Any commercial use of recordings made at the Festival requires a licence from the Promoter. If recordings are used commercially without one, you agree to pay the Promoter the cost of that licence.
11.3 The Festival will be filmed, photographed and broadcast, including on Afro*disiac Live Radio and our live stream. By attending, you understand that you may appear in this footage, which may be used to promote the Festival and future Afro*disiac events. If you would prefer not to be filmed, please tell a member of our media team on the day or contact us at the address in section 2, and we will do our best to respect that. Personal data is handled in line with our privacy policy, available on our website.
12. CHANGES TO THE PROGRAMME
12.1 The line-up and running order may change, sometimes at short notice. We will always share changes as soon as we can on our website and social channels.
12.2 Tickets are not refunded if the programme changes or if any artist, including a headline act, does not appear.
13. POSTPONEMENT AND CANCELLATION
13.1 Postponement: if the Festival is postponed, your ticket will be transferred to the rescheduled date. Tickets are not refunded in the event of postponement.
13.2 Cancellation: if the Festival is cancelled entirely and not rescheduled, you will receive a full refund of your ticket price.
13.3 The Promoter is not responsible for other costs you may have incurred, such as travel or accommodation, if the Festival is postponed or cancelled.
14. BREAKING THESE TERMS
14.1 If you break these terms, your ticket may be cancelled without a refund. This may mean being refused entry or being asked to leave the Venue.
15. YOUR SAFETY AND OUR RESPONSIBILITY
15.1 Please take care of yourself, your group and your belongings. You are responsible for your personal property at the Venue.
15.2 We are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not caused by our breach of these terms or our negligence, or for any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable.
15.3 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
16. COMPLAINTS AND GOVERNING LAW
16.1 If something isn’t right, please tell us at the address in section 2 and we will do our best to put it right.
16.2 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
17. DEFINITIONS
– Bearer / you: the holder of a Ticket.
– Conditions of Issue / these terms: these terms and conditions, which govern the issue and use of a Ticket and your entry to and time at the Venue.
– Festival: Afro*disiac Live Radio Presents Bournemouth Reggae Weekender, 23–25 July 2027.
– Festival Site / Venue: Kings Park, Boscombe, Bournemouth.
– Infant, Child, Teen, Adult: as defined in section 5.1, based on age on 23 July 2027.
– Promoter / we / us: Afro*disiac Live Radio CIC, 932 Christchurch Road, Bournemouth BH7 6DL, and, where relevant, those acting on its behalf, such as stewards and security.
– Ticket: any ticket or wristband issued for the Festival, whether paid for or not, including Weekend, Day, Infant, Child, Teen, Student, VIP, Backstage Guest and 2-for-1 tickets.
